Rachel is a dedicated advocate for her community, driven by her deep-rooted commitment to family and service. As the devoted wife of an Emergency Room first responder and a nurturing mother to her 13-year-old daughter, Rachel understands firsthand the importance of safety, healthcare, and education in shaping the lives of families. Raised in the same district and neighborhood where she now raises her own family, Rachel is intimately familiar with her community's unique needs and challenges.
Rachel's strong bond with her mother, whom she considers a mentor and best friend, has instilled in her a sense of responsibility and compassion for others. With a genuine desire to make a difference and a passion for fostering positive change, Rachel is dedicated to serving as a voice for her fellow residents on the city council. She believes in building a brighter future for all by advocating for inclusive policies, equitable opportunities, and thriving neighborhoods.
Rachel's vision is grounded in community, family, and a steadfast commitment to building a better tomorrow for generations to come.
Our citizens deserve an active listener to hear their concerns and create effective action plans to accomplish the goals of the people. I promise to be in tune with all residents and actively listen to their concerns and ideas.
Council Members are public servants and serving is a privilege that is earned outside of our full-time jobs. I believe that dissolving volunteer groups and giving Council a raise without the input of the citizens is inexcusable. I plan to repeal the stipend and reinstate the volunteer committees.
Cape Coral is one of the fastest growing cities in the country and we need proper infrastructure and fiscal responsibility to accommodate the build out. This includes roadways, traffic signals, zoning, and business development.
Our parks and recreational services are essential to the vibrance and well-being of our city. The citizens pledged $60M to the GO Bond, and while some of the projects have been completed, we are over budget and still taking on new projects. I want to see the original plan for the GO Bond completed before we start taking on new endeavors.
The increasing cost of the implementation of the UEP is affecting affordability for homeowners. I want to evaluate the procurement process, and open a line of communication with county, state and federal officials to obtain funding that can curb these costs for residents.
Cape Coral has a notoriously ineffective permitting process that has delayed so many residents and businesses from essential repairs, home improvements, and new growth. I want to properly staff the permitting department and adopt successful procedures that cut down the unnecessary steps and wasted time.
